Scientists closer to treatment with stem cells for type 1 diabetes

Scientists believe they have moved a little more than a cure for the type of diabetes develops in childhood, which usually leads to a lifetime of insulin injections.

"Watchdog" type - report by British researchers in California reverse the equivalent of 1 diabetes in rats through transplantation of stem cells.

It replaced their experiments, cells in the pancreas have been affected by the disease which is unable to take insulin.

Without insulin, the body is struggling to absorb the sugars such as glucose in the blood. The disease usually manifests during childhood or early adulthood, first used to be fatal, but the rate of glucose can now inject insulin control and regulation, adds the document.

Scientists have long wanted to try to replace cells damaged ss which normally produce insulin. It was one of the main objectives of stem cell experiments. But so far, it has proved difficult, partly because simple renewal of the ß-cells mature.

Writing in the journal stem cells, the scientists described in "institutes of Gladstone in San Francisco, collected skin cells called fibroblasts, laboratory mice and how they have taken a step backwards.

Then treat the fibroblasts with the unique 'cocktail' of particles and reprogramming factors, it transforms cells as the cells of the tissues.

Type of cells tissue cells in the early embryo, which ripens ultimately to major organs in the body, including the pancreas.
